We acknowledge the critical role that debt markets may play in motivating businesses to increase their sustainability efforts, and we support the advances of the sustainable finance market, including the wider social and environmental advancement that this kind of financing can achieve. We think that when capital and corporate commitment are clearly aligned, sustainable financing will become the standard.

Despite our lengthy history, Hartree Bulk Storage LLC is aware that our survival depends on maintaining sustainability as the company’s primary value. In 2024, we adopted the UN Global Compact Sustainable Ocean Principles and goals, which are based on a campaign on the UN’s 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) that was started by the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO). As of 2019, the member of the worldwide alliance ‘Getting to Zero’ aims to operate zero-emission vessels on deep-sea voyages by 2030. Enrolled in the Global Maritime Forum’s ‘Call to Action for Shipping Decarbonization’, endorsing the demand made on governments to collaborate with the sector in order to provide the investments and policies required to attain the necessary tipping points in the decarbonization of global supply chains and the global economy.

We added the IOGP’s Life-Saving Rules to the already comprehensive safety protocols in 2024. The US Bribery Act Guidance anti-corruption statute serves as the foundation for our anti-corruption and integrity system.
